When I first started my work from home business I worked day and night like you said, way more than a 40 hour week.

I started my online business in 2001 but was so clueless about marketing that I wasted my first couple of years.

Today I am a little more established and have learned how to work smarter, even though I still work hard.

This is definitely not the business for slackers. I have watched a few of my friends give it up because it takes more work than they expected, way more.

I too sleep until I want to get up but for me it’s 5am. I just can’t stay in bed any longer. Although this means I am usually done what I had planned by noon and the rest of the day is mine.

I do a lot of fly fishing, gardening and playing guitar in my spare time, because I earn it.

Yes, we should. I have supported ‘working from home’ statement since June last year, never been happier, Donna. I don’t mind work in pyjamas. ha.. but I do need to dress well in order to remind myself I’m still ‘working’, but for myself, my family, my dreams. It’s glad to read about this article and nodding all the way down. All the best in your career!

Hi Donna,

I am working my way to the goal of working from home on my own terms. I have not encountered the F&F critique as of yet, but I am sure I will when my dream becomes a reality and they are still slogging off to work every day.

ileane, there are lots of scams, but even if you follow a legitimate guide, there’s still lots of reality involved and work to be done. Dream, dream big, and then work hard to make those dreams come true.

What a breath of fresh air this post is. It’s nice to have someone “keep it real” when it comes to making money online. Get rich quick promises all look like scams to me and I bet that most of them are.

There is a lot to handle, but some people enjoy wearing lots of hats. Maybe it’s about control, LOL. In any case, as long as one understands the reality, one can face it head on.

Well said. Perhaps only those that been through the process of “working at home” can fully understand. Perhaps working from home is much more difficult then getting a job. There are lot more to handle in terms of psychologically and physically.
