When I saw the title of this in my RSS reader client I thought it would be about paying to use an email newsletter software like Aweber or iContact.
Paying to receive a newsletter is a great idea if you have something that people will part with money to get their hands on. The newsletters and sites I run don’t offer anything worth paying for.

I have seen very few marketers who have paid newsletter, like f.e. Mike Dillard. The person who can do it must really have tremendous value and then it is very good residual income source. The alternative to this is selling solo ads to your list.

I think I am like everyone else here and have never considered a paid newsletter. You would want some kick arse content though or you would be losing subscribers very quickly and also potentially return visitors to your blog.
