This is the start of a series of posts I will be doing that essentially shows you how to be me…no, that’s not quite right. How to do what I do….no, that’s not it either. How to do what YOU do, but how to do it in a way that is similar to what I do. LOL. How about we keep this simple…
How to Make A Living In Your Pajamas
My friends and family inevitably always get around to asking me the same questions.
First they ask, “What do you do?”
Translation: “What kind of business are you in that lets you sit on your computer in your home office all day…in your pajamas?”
I never, ever give them the real answer, because it would take too long to explain, and they’d still be looking at me with those big eyes, going, “Huh?”, so instead I just say something like, “I have web sites that make money”, or “I am an Internet marketer”.
Eventually, they always ask, “But how do you make money?”. And once again, to keep things simple, I say “advertising”. If I absolutely must give them further details, I will explain that people pay me to put advertising on my sites, just like advertisers pay to be in a magazine or newspaper. That usually satisfies them enough to end the conversation, even though that’s only one of many ways that I make money.
But this series isn’t about ending the conversation. This series of posts is all about telling you the specifics of what I do, so you can do the same thing…or actually…something similar. You see, at least half of the people who ask me the above questions eventually get around to asking me one more. “How can I do that?”
That answer is even more complex than any of the others, because it is completely dependent upon YOU. WHAT you do will be different than WHAT I do. I won’t be focusing so much on the WHAT as I will on the HOW. And even the HOW will vary depending upon the WHAT, but rather than confuse you further, let’s just keep it simple once again.
By the time you finish this series of posts, hopefully, you will have figured out both WHAT to do to make a living in your pajamas, as well as HOW to do it. Both of those things will be different than the what and how of what I do, or the what and how of what another reader of this blog may do, but all of us will have our very own WHATs and HOWs figured out. Ok?
