Even a micro-sized part of helping microbusiness owners is a big help. Thanks for that!

We have been working with two incubators and a tech center. Our goal is to provide low cost entry level branding and online presence for startup microbizes.

With the downturn and layoffs, it has been gratifying to be at least a micro-sized part of giving deserving microbiz owners a leg up.

Hi, Jack. I was just looking through your site (discovered via your Twitter page - now following you). Very interesting things you're doing for microbusinesses. I hope everyone who reads this checks your site out. (www.mainstreetventures.com)

I'm particularly concerned with our population being forgotten about during political discussions and decisions. Things designed to help businesses often don't include us. But knowing where to find resources (beyond just the SBA) is something I think everyone needs as well. I hope some of my readers contribute comments about their needs too.

Hi Donna -- I agree that "microbusinesses" are a significant, but overlooked, segment of both local and national economies. I'm currently working on developing a program in conjunction with local Chambers of Commerce, educational institutions, and various business leaders to fill resource gaps directed at this segment of the economy. There are lots of programs where solo owners and entrepreneurs can get info on starting and improving their businesses, but little in the way of practical help. Are there any specific things you can think of that would make a difference for you or your clients?
