I don't think Donna was talking about saving money so as to be able to feed herself and her family, but it's more an exercise in how to cut the waste out of your life and what the benefits could be. For me - I subscribe to a couple of job board sites/ feeds that I really don't use anymore/find effective for getting clients and yet I still pay for them each month. I also quit smoking a couple of months ago and that's a good 40 cent an hour raise for me right there - let alone the health benefits which are priceless :) Raising rates means delivering more in some cases. Instead of cutting 20% of the project cost, cut 20% of the scope of work - and the cost, for example. I actually gave away quite a few domains to someone not long ago, but I should periodically go through the list and see what I can sell off. Great coupons - great deals. Now that I live in the middle of nowhere though, they'd go to waste. Good idea for everyone who likes to do things outside of their home - eat out, go to amusement parks, etc. and actually live in a place that has all those cool things to do.
