I cannot believe that ebay is doing affiliate programs. This website generates a lot traffic via google products and it has itself quite high number of searches on google. About 20M searches per month for the keywotd ebay.

I have to say I love Ebay and I am a affiliate marketer for lots of other products and services but never thought about Ebay itself in an affiliate capacity.

The Ebay Partner Network has far more stringent acceptance policies than other affiliate programs. I should know coz I’ve been denied twice.

That’s a wise plan, Sherri. Caution is a good thing, and testing is great. If you can manage to do some A/B testing as well, where you serve half the users the page without the links and half the users the page with the new links, you could get an even better idea of what works best.

I found your site out of a curiosity search regarding Ebay affiliates. I have made my living for the past 3 years with Google Adsense and Amazon on a group of about 40 niche websites. I was thinking of adding Ebay but get fearful that it will take away from my other links. So…anyway, thanks for the information and maybe I’ll try it on a select few for starters!

Becoming a trading assistant is another great way to take this model a step further. I have dabbled with the affiliate thing in the past, but if you graduate to becoming a local trading assistant you can make some really good money.

I have heard of this happening to many people Victor, even those who have been trading with them for years are getting cut off because their traffic is “not of high enough quality” even though they are buying whatever that means.

Our job is to send traffic, not sell to them…

I cannot even sign up with them anyway since the sign up page refuses to recognise its own email box lol

Great information….Unfortunately I am boycotting Ebay right now…after 20 some odd years as a loyal buyer/seller…they didnot approve me for their partner network…said the site wasnt good enough….unreal..

It depends. They’ve got a new(ish) payment system that is based on the quality of traffic that you send, and of course, they determine what that quality level is. So, it varies and is different for everyone.

This is an awesome approach, I have a small site which is crap right now, (lets be honest lol) but it isn’t really my niche, I like the idea of getting commissions from others.

Any idea what the rates are?
