Blog contests are extremely popular lately, and that means you can use that to your advantage. However, the more creative you can be in designing your contest, the more traffic you can expect from it. Want an example? Sure you do!

A savvy blogger might take advantage of an upcoming holiday such as Easter, for example, and design a clever little contest, in which she hides Easter eggs throughout her blog. She then invites visitors to find the hidden eggs within her blog to win a cool prize - which just happens to be a product that the blogger is going to be launching soon.

I’ve mentioned before that you should always take advantage of free information, especially when it comes from an expert. Yaro Starak has created a video case study where he goes through someone’s blog, and explains in detail how they can make changes to bring in more traffic and subscribers. traffic sourcesWe all share a common goal - increasing traffic to our site or blog. Without traffic, our sites are invisible. Traffic, however, can come from many sources. Some of those sources are gold mines of highly targeted traffic consisting of visitors who are wanting to consume and interact with our content. Some sources are next to worthless and our sites would be better off without the waste of bandwidth. Below, I’ve listed what I consider to be the most common forms of traffic, rated from best to worst. Use this as a guide when promoting your site, so that you focus your energies in the right places.
