Currently Browsing: Making Money Online
As most of you know, I work from home, and tend to advocate that lifestyle quite a bit. In doing so, I’ve often used the phrase, “you can work from anywhere”, but an online acquaintence reminded me that I should make sure I add a few points to that. Let me tell you about a man who has some experience with these additional points.
I asked Robert to tell his story about how he set up his...

While I was in the midst of moving, I had the opportunity to meet with one of the guys from Linkdex and was given a private tour of their awesome SEO tool. Unfortunately, all of the moving hassle involved since then, caused me to forget much of what I intended to write about. I’d planned a nice, long, informative review of Linkdex, but that’s probably not going to happen. Sorry. I apologize...

When is the last time a website made you feel special? If a site made an effort to make you feel really special to them, would you appreciate it? If you’re anything like me, the answer would be a definite yes, and in fact, might even turn you into a brand evangelist.
Today was my birthday, and although I hardly ever go to the home page of google.com (I usually just search from the address bar), I...

Over the years, I’ve worked with tons of various online experts so I thought it was time for me to make a few recommendations. Of course, I could easily recommend lots of people, but many of those people are best suited for larger clients with deeper pockets. Many of them own agencies that typically handle Fortune 500 companies. This list isn’t for that crowd. This list is designed for the solo...

I was recently speaking with a guy who has created a course on how to bring in income by offering an email newsletter – that people actually pay to receive. Go figure! I’ll be honest, I never even considered the idea of creating a paid email newsletter. Once I thought about it though, I realized it was really just a simplified form of a membership site, which I’ve talked about a few times...

Lately, people have been quick to shout that Google Plus has mostly inactive users, and I’m here to say, “yeah, so?”. One of these shocking pronouncements came about in August 2011, when Bimeanalytics put out an infographic that swept the tech news and had everyone shouting that 83% of Google Plus users are inactive, or on the flip side, only 17% are active. Bimeanalytics later withdrew...

I’ve decided today that I’m going to boycott sites that use reCAPTCHA. I’m sick and tired of fighting with that thing. I can never, ever read those words. I spent 20 minutes just now trying to register with a site, and refreshed the recaptcha over 70 times! I even attempted to use the spoken version of it, and still couldn’t get it right! This happens to me all the freaking time....

Can visitors easily find a good overview of all the blog posts on your site, or do you unintentionally force them to browse through page after page of archived content that only display 3 or 4 posts per page? It’s unlikely many visitors will look beyond the first or second page of archived posts, and most will certainly not scroll through a hundred pages or more just to see what kind of content you...
