Persistence. Doggedness. Tenacity. Call it what you will, but the ability to “stick with it”, even when you’d rather play a game or watch TV is an absolutely essential key to success.

A couple of months ago, I wrote Plodding Your Way To Success over on my other blog, and while it is geared towards SEO, the same general tenets apply to the broadest spectrum of success. I listed the following:

Many a business person will tell you that networking, and the contacts you have available to you, is a huge key to success. That applies to the one-person, online, work from home business as well. The difference, however, is that much of that person’s networking will be virtual and online. I have a huge network of contacts to draw upon, but I’ve never actually met 99.9% of them face to face. That’s ok. I’ve established a strong personal and professional relationship with them, and I know that I can count on them when I need them. Of course, they also know they can count on me as well.

I strongly believe that Attitude is a Key factor in achieving success. You’ve already added the Diversity key to your virtual success keyring, and today I suggest you add Attitude to that virtual keyring as well.

In my case, success only came to me once I allowed my positive personality to shine through. In case you haven’t noticed, my main slogan or catch-phrase is You’ll never shine if you don’t glow. This is actually a line from a Smash Mouth song (AllStar), that affected my life several years ago.

There are quite a few keys that are necessary to ensure success when making a living online. I’ll cover each of those keys in subsequent posts. Today, let’s discuss the Diversity Key.

I’ve found it to be extremely important to have a large, diverse set of income streams. Over the years, there have been times when one or more of my income sources have been low or non-existent for that month.
