We have a winner!

Eric P. Martin of The Blog Novice just won the 26 Week Internet Marketing Plan that I’m giving away. He submitted an entry by suggesting this question:

How do I put advertising code in the sidebar in a php file?

in this post.

I’ve emailed Eric and am waiting to hear back from him so I know where to ship everything.

Thanks to everyone who entered the contest, and special thanks to the 26 Week Internet Marketing Plan people for creating it in the first place… Continue reading

Win 26 Week Marketing Plan Worth Approximately $800

You may recall that I reviewed the 26 Week Marketing Plan, and I thought it was very well done and very informative. Because I reviewed it, I have a copy that I’m willing to give away to one lucky contest-winner. In that review post, I mentioned that if you checked it out and read the material, you would have the chance to win this prize. But I’ve decided that it would be too difficult to expect you to remember what you read all this time later. So, let’s make things easier.

There will be two (3) ways of entering this contest.

1) Subscribe to my private list. Look over to the right. See the form just under the yellow highlighted text (under Join My… Continue reading

Fill In The Blank For A Chance To Win

I’d like to do an informal poll and I would sincerely appreciate it if you would participate. I promise it is very easy. Keep in mind that the broad subject matter of this blog is primarily centered around making a living online, and the various methods of accomplishing that goal. With that in mind, would you please submit a comment that fills in the blank to the following:

How do I _________________________________________?

Feel free to submit as many comments as you want. The goal here is to find out what you would like to know how to do (as in a step-by-step process). Please make it specific; in other words, don’t say How do I make money online? That’s too broad. Narrow it down… Continue reading

I Am Now Available As An eBusiness Coach

Although the written word is extremely powerful, it can’t compete with a one-on-one conversation. Beginning today, I am launching a new aspect to my business, in which I can be hired as an eBusiness Coach / Consultant. What does that mean? That means, one-on-one conversations with people looking to transition to making a living from home and succeeding with an online business. It means providing guidance, clarity, and support with weekly phone sessions and follow-up emails. It means personal attention.

If you or someone you know is looking for a coach / consultant to help ease them into making a living online, visit my new site (listed below) and consider what it would mean to have your own personal coach guiding you along the way… Continue reading

The Blogosphere: Power Of The People

powerThink blogging and participating in online communities cannot bring about powerful change? Think again! After reading one short forum thread post, a blogger was able to pick up a big story, tell his readers about it, thereby causing a cascade effect that changed the way, not one, but TWO huge companies practiced business.

For quite some time now, registrars were required to allow a 5 day grace period, in which domain names registered could be cancelled and refunded within 5 days. This process allowed large blocks of domains with popular search keywords in them to be registered, monetized (usually by Google Adsense), and if it was discovered within the 5 days that it was not a profitable domain name, cancel it, get a… Continue reading

The DazzlinDonna Blog Celebrates Its First Year

birthdayWow, the first birthday of this blog almost snuck right past me. I was checking out the past entries for another reason yesterday, and noticed that the first entry was almost exactly one year ago. But as fate would have it, I noticed, and so today, we celebrate the first birthday of this blog.

I guess I should go ahead and give a slight history of the blog. It started because I didn’t have a place to post non-SEO-related thoughts. I’d been blogging regularly for a couple of years on my SEO Scoop blog, but was frustrated by being cornered into one topic there. So, I decided a personal blog would make sense to have. Thus, this blog began as… Continue reading

That Which You Should Spend Carefully

How are the following numbers related?

  • 3653
  • 315,619,216
  • 5,260,320
  • 87,672
  • 521

Stumped?

Ok, I won’t make you think too hard. Those numbers are all related to a specific amount of time - 10 years in fact.

10 years is:hourglass

  • 3653 days or
  • 315,619,216 seconds or
  • 5,260,320 minutes or
  • 87,672 hours or
  • 521 weeks

How long have you worked for someone else? Hit the 10 year mark yet? More?

Time spent cannot be regained. You will never get even one of those seconds of time back, so spend each of them wisely. Do you want another 10 years to go by working for someone else? And another 10…and another…

Just something to think about… Continue reading

DazzlinDonna Now Has Full RSS Feeds

If you haven’t subscribed to the feed here in the past because you hate partial feeds, you’ll be happy to know that those days are over. Starting today, you’ll be able to subscribe to full feeds. I generally adhere to my rule of giving out only partial feeds when a blog is new so that scrapers don’t outrank the blog in the search engines. Now, however, i think this blog has gained enough traction to be able to withstand any duplicate content problems that scrapers might try to cause. Hope everyone enjoys the new full feeds. If you haven’t subscribed yet, now would be a great time to do so!… Continue reading

I’ve got a Joost invite for you!

If you are one of the handful of people who actually read this blog, this is your lucky day! If you’d like to be a beta tester of Joost, just let me know your email address. I’ll send you an invitation to be one of the first to use Joost.

Oh! What is Joost, you ask? Well, it’s a really cool new service that will allow you to watch TV on your PC or MAC, without any special TV tuner card gizmos (though you do need a modern computer with a little oomph). Plus it’s got all the social media goodness built in so you can chat with friends while watching a show, and rate the shows while you watch them.

If you don’t want… Continue reading

Want to be a popular blogger?

Since this blog is fairly new and has an extremely small audience so far, you’d think maybe I need to really study up on blog tips. However, I also have another blog that is somewhat popular, so I’m not a complete noob at this whole blog business. Nevertheless, I’m no A-lister, so I’m always interested in blogging advice. A nice article called 27 +1 Tips for Building and Maintaining a Blog Audience over on SponsoredReviews caught my eye for two reasons.

  • It was something worth reviewing. I’m pretty picky about what I review, and I’m always intrigued to find something I’d like to review.
  • It was something I’m interested in, and think that at least some of my readers (few that they are) might be interested in
