Best Known For…

Just a really quick question today. If you could “pre-write” your obit (for far into the future, of course), how would you like the following statement to read? (being somewhat realistic, but still allowing for ultimate dreams).

[your name here] was best known for …

Now what would it take to make the first step towards making that statement true?

  1. Lisa Marie Mary was best known for her fun-loving and peaceful spirit and for helping LOADS of children learn that reading is fun!

    Step 1: A regular meditation time, at least three times a week and getting back to my support group meetings would help grandly with that.

    Step 2: Editing my letters to children to include more about books and reading, making more funny/crazy videos wherein I read books and pour stuff on myself - or other crazy things. And promoting the dickens out of my letters for kids biz! Buy more books for all the kids I know. Read with my kids and all kids that walk through my doors.

    Cool post - thanks, Donna! :)

  2. Glad I could make at least one person stop and think about it for a minute. I’ll check in with you sometime in the future, Lisa Marie Mary, and see what kind of progress you’re making towards fulfilling that “best known for” statement. :)

  3. You know DD… I do muse about these things and try to actively go about each day to build a person my kids will be proud of some day…

    For my epitaph I still hearken to the immortal words of ‘I did it my way’;

    “For what is a man, what has he got? If not himself, then he has naught. To say the things he truly feels; And not the words of one who kneels. The record shows I took the blows - And did it my way! ”

    Thus I want to be known for kindness and never being afraid to walk my own path ;0)

  4. And that’s one of the reasons I like your style, Dave. :)

  5. awww geee DD… yer always one of my fav peeps because you care, are passionate and do things ‘your way’. Kindred spirits we are babe!!

  6. Roschelle was best known for her dedication to her family and her love of life. She never met a stranger and was an inspiration to those who knew her.

  7. That made me stop and think too, Donna.

    I’d say.. I would like to be remembered for having helped a lot of people realize who they really are, and thereby help them by finding their true purpose in life. It wouldn’t actually matter that people remember me as long as they are able to be happier somehow by knowing the truth.
