Yesterday, I encouraged you to establish your Internet presence ASAP, even if you weren’t sure you were ready. However, I realized later that I should have also encouraged you to pick the right domain name first. Having a bad domain name could be difficult to overcome later.

I could go into a long diatribe about how to pick the right domain name, but others have done it before me, so instead I’m going to send you off to one that I particularly like. 14thc has a good article, called How to choose a breakthrough domain for your website, that spells it all out in simple terms. The article continues on in several parts, so be sure to read them all.

If you haven’t yet registered your new domain name, read 14thc’s excellent article and then go grab your domain name before someone else does.
