Modernize Your Site or Blog

clear icon Does your site look like it was created in the 90’s by your nephew? Wait, it was? Oops, sorry, didn’t mean to be insulting, but if you’d like to give your site a seriously more modern look, you might want to start by looking at the various Crystal Clear icon packs that are available. If nothing else, these should inspire you by giving you an idea of what modern even looks like. Or, if you are clamoring for some bright, colorful graphics to jazz up your blog posts now and then, these work well too. (See the graphic at the beginning of this post for an example). Below are four places to download free crystal clear icon sets or just gaze at them for inspiration.

My favorite by far, Crystal Clear - Wikimedia:

  1. Now I’m going to have to work out a way to use one of these ;)

  2. All of those have copyrights, be aware of that!

  3. Backup, what makes you think these are anything but free? Everything I’ve seen indicates FREE, FREE, FREE to me. What did I miss?

The first set is from Wikimedia, which says, “The Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content, that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose.”

The second and third sets are both from Deziner Folio, and both mention the word FREE in the titles of the posts.

Now, granted the last set, Sweetie, requires attribution but they are free to use, even commercially.

  4. I see this a lot too and yeah, I definitely want to pipe in and say something.
