Do you plan to do the whole environmentally green thing?
We just had the Live Earth concert series happen around the world. Global warming and climate changes are in the news and being discussed on talk shows round the clock. We keep being told that even the smallest things, if undertaken by enough people, could help immensely. I have no doubt that there’s a lot I could personally do, but I have to admit that I’m not up to speed on what those things might be. In fact, the only thing I can think of off the top of my head is to go out and buy those new-fangled light bulbs. See, I can’t even think of the name of them right now, but you know the kind I mean. No? Oh, all right, just a sec, let me go find out the name, I’ll be right back.
Ok, I’m back. Compact fluorescents (CFLs) use about 65% less energy than standard incandescent light bulbs and last 10-20 times longer. So, ok, I’d be stupid not to go out and get these since they would directly benefit me as well as being good for the planet. But I haven’t yet paid attention enough to really know what else I could or should be doing. Have you?
I plan to do some research and I’ll be posting what I find here. I’m mainly looking to find things that won’t be a major hassle, because a hassle will just mean it won’t happen. But if we can contribute easily, then maybe we can actually accomplish something. If it’s too hard or too expensive, we may just continue to ignore the problems. Hey, we’re human, right?
So, as I find other small things that we can all do without much hassle or expense, I’ll be sure to list them here. And of course, if you know of anything, please include it in the comments.

I’ve been thinking along the same lines. I have already changed all my light bulbs to the new CFLs, I am working harder at recycling, I’ve cut back on the amount of printing on real paper I do and I’m planning to buy one of those low flow shower heads. It’s a start.
I’m also interested in what others are doing.
Oh, I don’t know if I can do a low flow shower head. That sounds like a major sacrifice. /sigh. Ok, ok, I’ll look into it.
