Here’s your chance to get back at me if I’ve ever done anything to tick you off. It doesn’t really fit (size-wise) in this space very well, so if you’d rather, you can always play it here instead. Be sure to let me know in the comments what your score was. That will tell me just how much I ticked you off. (Of course, you can also play just for fun, and not because I made you...

I tend to spend most of my blogtime reading work-related blogs. In fact, if I hadn’t stumbled across Confessions of a Pioneer Woman because I marked Cooking as a topic in StumbleUpon, I would never have run across this woman’s personal blog. But I sure am glad I did.
First of all, as you all know, I’m a terrible cook. So, I’m always on the lookout for sites that help me deal with...

Michael tagged me in a Nerd Test meme over on Smackdown. (If you understand that sentence, you may be a nerd…just kidding). Basically, Michael (owner of a site called Smackdown), took a nerd test, and challenged 5 people to do the same (creating a Nerd Test meme). So, I took the test. Below are my results, and a link for you to take the test as well. I’m just a slight nerd…just what...

If you are one of the handful of people who actually read this blog, this is your lucky day! If you’d like to be a beta tester of Joost, just let me know your email address. I’ll send you an invitation to be one of the first to use Joost.
Oh! What is Joost, you ask? Well, it’s a really cool new service that will allow you to watch TV on your PC or MAC, without any special TV tuner...

My second grandchild is incubating. This newbie is due to arrive mid-January, making him or her a Capricorn like me. That’s got to be a good thing! The kids (that’s what I call the newbie’s mom and dad) are hoping for a boy so they can use the boy’s name they picked out when my granddaughter was born nearly two years ago. I’m hoping I can somehow talk them out of the...

If you recall, a month ago, I confessed that I cannot cook, and that an 18-ingredient recipe should NOT categorize itself as EASY (referring to an empanada recipe I stumbled across). Today, I stumbled across two recipe-related sites, and I really like them both.
The first was a vertical search engine for recipes called FoodieView that runs a search against multiple recipe sites. Through it, I then...

Yesterday, we had a portion of our land cleared of brush. During the clearing process, a little nest of baby birds was discovered. Unable to put the birds back into the same spot (which no longer existed), we propped up the branch containing the nest in the same general area, hoping that would be enough to save them.
Sure enough, the mom and dad birds found their babies in their new location and started...

A few years ago, Hurricane Katrina struck, and I learned then what I wish I’d had on hand when it happened. Since then, I’ve made it my mission to stock up on everything I needed but didn’t have during that emergency. I thought it would be useful to list everything I keep handy in the hopes that you won’t get caught without these needed supplies. * These aren’t just for...

I’m simply dying to win a role on CSI as a dead body. I love, love, love CSI and they are holding a simple contest. Register to win and you could play a dead body on a future CSI episode. How cool is that? How do you enter? It’s simple. Watch for the doll icon with a phone number during the next episode (you’ve already missed two, but there’s one more to go). Then either...

After using WordPress for a while now on different sites, I’ve come to the conclusion that WordPress simply rocks. I’m not sure I would ever use anything else for a new site, even a non-blog site. In any case, over time, I’ve used the following WordPress plugins and widgets on some or all of my WordPress sites. Of course, there’s the old standards like Akismet, that no one should...
